About

In the beginning of the 60ties Mr. G.C. Nielsen started the company Rectus in his own house outside Aarhus. The idea of the company was production and trading with suction systems and separators for cleaning kettles in larger building societies and smaller district heating stations. The products were based on G.C. Nielsen’s knowledge of the market from his earlier occupation as salesman of industrial vacuum cleaners.

Later on when G.C. Nielsen was visiting his dentist he was asked if he could produce an efficient suction system to use in dental clinics. The existing systems were not efficient enough, when new micro motors and turbines with large spray volume came into the market. These products produced an increased water volume in the patient’s mouth during treatment. G.C. Nielsen went home and invented both suction motor and separation tank, which over the coming years were used in the major part of dental clinics in Denmark

The development went fast and new products was invented. The characteristic of the company’s products were simple and efficient solutions, made of solid components and materials.

In the end of the 80ties filtration of amalgam became an issue in the environmental debate in Denmark and Rectus launched an efficient filter, which has been launched in both Denmark, Norway, Belgium, France and England, where large market shares are built up. In the present domicile in Viby is established a plant which can treat the amalgam waste from used filters. It has been approved in 2000.

In 1995 the company was sold to a group of dental servicing companies and later on taken over by Managing Director, Mr. Erik Petersen.

In 1998 Rectus ApS bought CP sugeteknik and the company activities were moved to Viby. The CP sugeteknik was specialised in producing suction- arms, motors and work cabinets. The company’s products were known to have a high comfort and high efficiency with less noise. The product range consisting of components with ability to remove fumes and dust were complementary to Rectus’ own product range concerning wet suction. The fusion was natural, as the competence in removing wet and dry particles was put together in one company. Since the fusion, Rectus has developed new products for process ventilation, especially for dental clinics, dental- and hearing labs and chiropodists.

In 1999 Rectus ApS took over the activities in Brabrand Møbel- og Inventarfabrik, which had produced furniture and inventory for more than 70 years. Rectus ApS took over the company in order to strengthen the assortment of inventory for labs and dental clinics. A complete assortment of inventory especially for dentists, dental- and hearing labs has been developed and been sold in both Denmark and abroad. In 2006 were the carpentry sold, due to structural changes in the company.
